DESCRIPTION
“There is something about red. ‘The Red Violin’, ‘The Lady in Red’ and now ‘The Red Doll’. I am sure the young girl that carried this doll was the envy of many of her friends. I wonder if the doll was passed on to her children and grandchildren. In the Native cultures, females were directed toward motherhood and domestic duties at a young age, and were given dolls, toy cradle boards and such to learn about adult female duties and chores.” – William Acheff
